In depth

Verdict

David Wachman has won this a couple of times in recent years but Tantalising, though progressing nicely, will need to step up on her Bellewstown maiden victory in this much tougher event. Nantucket Bay, who won a Navan maiden on Fast ground in May, didn't enjoy the soft conditions in the Ladies Derby at the Curragh and is looking a few pounds high. Gentleman Duke ran his best race for a very long time over 1m3f at Killarney where he stayed on late and looks a threat as does Goldplated, who has landed a couple of low-grade handicaps in the style of a progressive filly. SHAZAMOUR, by Azamour out of a winning sprinter, wouldn't appear to have the pedigree for this trip but she ran very well behind Forever Glory and subsequent winner Cherokee Brave at Leopardstown last time and a chance is taken that she is on a fair enough mark to make a successful handicap debut.
