Magna Cartor beat Water Sprite in this a year ago and is back on the same mark so shouldn't be dismissed despite moderate recent form. The runner-up had won the race the previous year but hasn't been in the best of form over jumps. Dermot Weld has won the race several times and Dalton Highway was racing over a trip much too short on his reappearance at Leopardstown last month. That looked a prep-run for this so he's greatly respected. BRONAGH'S BELLE raced over 6f and 7f as a juvenile but it wasn't until she stepped up to 1m5f at Leopardstown that she showed her true colours. She's still at the right end of the handicap, despite a big rise in the ratings, and will take some beating. She's A Star battled to victory over the trip at Dundalk before just failing to catch Cliffs Of Duneen at the Curragh, where she was staying on strongly, so she's one for the short-list.
