A Grade 2 winner over hurdles, Lil Rockerfeller is having his first start since April as he returns to this code but Silvestre De Sousa’s presence in the saddle suggests connections mean business. Kloud Gate and Coeur de Lion are hard to separate having filled the places at Newbury last time and finished within a length of each other over 2m4f in the Ascot Stakes before that. Kloud Gate is preferred to stablemate Altaayil but Piedita continued her good progress when scoring over 2m at Chelmsford for Sir Mark Prescott’s in-form yard and is another to consider. IMPHAL was hampered on his latest start here having gone close over 2m at the track before that and he also won here last year. He gets the vote ahead of recent York winner Northwest Frontier while Denmead finished ahead of last year’s winner Cool Sky when placed at Newcastle last time.
