SOLDIER’S CALL had the previous Group 2 winner Van Beethoven back in fourth when landing the Windsor Castle at Ascot last time. Archie Watson’s colt will take some pegging back on that form if allowed his own way in front and is preferred to Norfolk Stakes fourth Rumble Inthejungle. Mick Channon’s charge finished well ahead of a below-par Vintage Brut at Ascot and the latter shares ownership with recent Sandown Listed winner Well Done Fox. Queen Of Bermuda had been progressive before disappointing behind the selection at Ascot but it’s too soon to write her off and she makes more appeal than the rapidly-improving Street Parade and the Ballydoyle filly Fantasy.
