SPANISH CRUISE overcame a long absence and trouble at the start to land a gamble over this trip at Exeter on New Year's Day and can start fulfilling his potential, despite a 10lb rise in the weights. David Pipe also saddles long-time absentee Milan Deux Mille and this one-time useful performer is worth keeping an eye on for the future. Loco Grande is now 12lb higher than when scoring at Folkestone early in the month but produced another good effort at Fakenham last week and is on the upgrade. Jordan started a short-priced favourite for a moderate C&D handicap last time but was beaten a long way and this looks tougher while the only C&D winner in the field, Captain Becket, has been beaten a distance on his two latest starts.
