Verdict

With Cyanara racing from 5lbs out of the handicap proper and Gigs Gambit not looking good enough this looks to be a virtual match between the joint top weights Dunmanus Bay and Misty Future, with preference for the latter. The selection, a 95-rated hurdler, ran creditably on his chase debut at Hereford two weeks ago over an inadequate 2m3f and should be much better suited to the longer distance today. Martin Pipe's Dunmanus Bay showed a similar level of form to the selection over timber and has the benefit of greater experience over fences. However, the six-year-old is far from a natural over the larger obstacles and, off a 7lb higher mark than when winning a weak race at Newton Abbot last time, he looks opposable. Gigs Gambit looked well held when falling at Ascot last time but still rates a bigger danger than Cyanara in a race that is expected to see Misty Future win his first race over fences.
