A wide open maiden gets proceedings underway and the market may prove the best guide as to what is expected but the principals look to be Equus, Zakfree and Goodwood Finesse and we will take a chance on Equus. The colt from the Richard Hannon yard made an encouraging debut when fifth behind Cusco. He is sure to have learnt from the experience and given normal improvement he will be hard to beat. Zakfree rates the main danger he was a fair third behind Mobsi last time , however he was doing all his best work at the finish on that occasion and he may be seen to better effect over further. Goodwood Finesse is a filly by Revoque from a top yard and is worth noting in the market. Of the remainder Akritas is from a yard that can ready a two year old and is related to winners and the booking of Kieren Fallon catches the eye but we are happy to side with the more experienced Equus.
