behind from 8th tailed off when blundered 12th, pulled up before 3 out
always going well, tracked leaders, led on bits 3 out, idled flat, ridden out
chased leader until 10th, soon behind, tailed off
led, headed briefly after 4th, ridden after 4 out, headed next, kept on but no chance with winner
A small but competitive field goes to post for this chase and the main protagonists look to be Fair Prospect, The Lyme Volunteer and Baloo and we will side with The Lyme Volunteer. The gelding from the bang in form Oliver Sherwood yard was let down by his jumping when beaten at odds on behind Goodtime George last time, however with that run sure to have blown the cobwebs away and with his stable now in good form he is taken to score with conditions in his favour. Fair Prospect rates the main danger on his latest third behind Lynrick Lady in a class C hurdle last time. He is sure to have been well schooled for this his chasing debut and if he completes the course he will not be far away. Baloo was a fair third behind Rosslea last time and he has plenty of experience over fences but he is very one paced and looks more exposed than some of his rivals here. Just Anvil and Denny Island have shown very little and are readily opposed so we are happy to side with The Lyme Volunteer
