KELTIC LORD is our pick with Sean Og and Follow Your Heart as the likely dangers. This is not the greatest of contests and while Keltic Lord may have disappointed somewhat on his most recent start, it's worth bearing in mind that the saddle slipped on that occasion so help from the saddle would have been at a minimum. Although he has never won at the course, he has a number of fair placings. Sean Og chased home Cebonne in a thriller at Newton Abbot in the summer. He has the ability to win a race of this nature although as his record illustrates, he often doesn't. Follow Your Heart continues in the combination of tongue strap and visor. He ran better than his latest finishing position suggests over course and distance and is a previous course winner. Joe Deane is a dour stayer who is surprisingly dropped in trip. Pebese needs to come down the weights before he will be winning. Thenameescapes me is tried under professional handling having been tried three times with amateurs. Leading Article is still a maiden under National Hunt rules and is tried in cheekpieces and tongue-tie having raced this summer without either. Saby would have claims on some of his Philip Hobbs form but that now seems a long old time ago. An inherently modest race that Keltic Lord should be up to winning.
