Verdict
Given he's already won six times around here, it would be folly to leave Venetian Lad out of calculations as he was in good form at the start of the summer. Domtaline has yet to win for Evan Williams but started favourite at Stratford in August. Town Mouse finished second in that Stratford race and has been knocking on the door but continues to give the impression that he'd do better if eased in distance. Top Cat Henry didn't manage a victory in eight attempts over fences in Ireland and all of his UK starts so far have been over hurdles, though he's still preferred to the disappointing Kitegen and veteran Porters War. But Midnight Lira has the past form to figure and COMEONGINGER (NAP) won the novice handicap on this card 12 months ago. He also won twice at Kempton last season and may have the class to defy top weight.
