In the penultimate contest on the card, Western Point is selected ahead of Lapina and Franchoek. Western Point looked as though a step up to 12 furlongs would very much suit when second at Lingfield last time and, given that he gets that today, he ought to run well. Lapina has to be rated an unlucky loser based on her Lingfield third last time and she has to be given every chance today as blinkers seem to have helped her racing. Cavendish has it to prove from his revised mark and Pairumani Princess will probably need a good test at today's trip in order to be competitive. Jafaru had been running well before being pulled up over course and distance last time, but if he is over whatever ailed him that day, he cannot be ruled out. Finally, Chant de Guerre showed improvement to win at Lingfield last time, but that was in a seller, and spare some thought for Franchoek, who made late gains at Bath last time and who should improve for that experience. Once again, though, the selection is Western Point.
