Verdict

Thoughtsofstardom gets the vote over Spirit Of Coniston, with Otis B Driftwood given a squeak as well. Phil McEntee has booked Jamie Spencer again for Thoughtsofstardom who shaped well in a first-time visor at Nottingham recently, staying on well to finish fourth in a class five handicap. Spirit Of Coniston is two-pound better off for the length-and-a-quarter that he finished behind the selection in a Wolverhampton seller last October and is with a shrewd young handler, so has to be respected. Otis B Driftwood was touched off in a Lingfield seller in February, and even that poor form is better than that displayed by most of the others. The draw is a worry as regards our selection, but if Spencer can get out quickly and track across to the far rail, he should then be in a perfect position to strike for home.
