Verdict

This is the best race on the card, and we like the look of ASSABIYYA here, who we think can get the better of main dangers Hallingdal and Saturn Girl. The Godolphin filly's been given a mark of 85 after winning on debut at Windsor in impressive style, despite the odd touch of greenness. A daughter of Cape Cross, she doesn't have any fancy entries as yet, but sets a decent standard, albeit it's a step up in grade. Saturn Girl won last time out too, also at Windsor, showing improvement from debut. It's a slight step up in trip and grade, but we think she can handle them. She veered a little from side to side, but still held on, and is entitled to further improvement. A costly purchase, Simon Callaghan's string are in fine form, she's the yard's only runner on the card, and she holds an entry for a Newmarket Heritage Handicap in the autumn. Hallingdal's done better on Polytrack, with her only career win on turf coming on debut nearly two years ago. She's tumbled down the weights, and looks competitive at her current mark of 66, especially as Ryan Clark claims seven pounds. There's little to choose between Richard Hannon's two runners, Fanditha and Ballyalla, but also little to appeal about either also. First time blinkers may bring about some improvement for the former. However, it may not be enough to deny Assabiyya.
