A high draw will be essential here and in a trappy race, Firework is given the nod ahead of Mimic and Concubine. John Akehurst's charge is a much more realistic betting proposition over six furlongs and with a draw of eight there are plenty of ticks in the right boxes. Mimic was certainly impressive in a fillies event at Yarmouth but today's draw has done her few favours and she looks one to oppose. Concubine was a bitterly disappointing favourite at Brighton in an amateur riders race and while clearly able; we will await signs of a return to form before splashing out our hard earned cash. Inch By Inch received a hefty hike up the weights for an emphatic victory in a Brighton Classified Stakes and is not favoured at today's weights. Sandrione was rated superior to many of these last term and the market is watched on reappearance. Having considered the draw bias at Folkestone we find it very difficult to go against Firework as the win bet option.
