Verdict
Amnesty can follow up over the topweights Miss Pebbles and Del Mar Sunset, with Easter Ogil another to consider. The first three mentioned were all successful last time out, but the selection is likely to start at the best price and is the pick. After leaving Henry Candy, Amnesty patently did not take to the Polytrack this winter, and connections decided to put him in a seller at Windsor for his return to Turf a fortnight ago. For most of the way he languished in last place until suddenly taking off under Ryan Moore and bolting in. The strong pace must have suited him that day, and unless that was a fluke, he should go well off his current mark. Miss Pebbles pleased her trainer when successful over the course and distance last time and the fact that he was considering a handicap at either Sandown or Newmarket for her speaks for itself. She is not to be discounted despite having to give weight away all round. Del Mar Sunset has yet to win on Turf and flashed his tail when scoring at Wolverhampton, so is not as strongly fancied, while Royal Racer is two-pound worse off for a neck with Easter Ogil on recent course running and so preference is for the latter. However, Amnesty, who has been hiding his light under a bushel so to speak, is the pick in the finale.
