Rubenstar is going the right way and can open his account at the expense of Power Assisted, Young Flavio and Blue Jeans. This has the makings of a competitive nursery, and only a tentative vote goes the way of Rubenstar who has shown enough to suggest that he is ready to visit the winner's enclosure. Entered for the ¿250,000 Tattersalls October Auction Stakes at Newmarket this autumn and next year's Vodafone Derby, he is obviously held in some regard even if he does not reach the top, and on the evidence of his latest effort at York, success is just around the corner. Stepped up to seven furlongs for his nursery bow, he travelled like the winner throughout, but could not get past a resilient Silidan and was beaten a length at the finish. It may just be that he needs more time to strengthen up, and so the drop in grade and trip should ensure that Rubenstar goes close. Power Assisted has topweight to overcome but will appreciate the faster ground after failing to quicken at Nottingham. Young Flavio has his fair share of weight after landing a claimer last time, while Blue Jeans has gone close on a couple of occasions and should be involved. Of the others, Sapphire Storm and Crimson make most appeal, but we shall stick with Rubenstar.
