Rae Guest's Eye Of Eternity has not been out of the first two in her last two starts and should be thereabouts again but a 2lb rise since her latest second at Yarmouth makes this more difficult and a better bet looks to be BEAUCHAMP XIARA, who gets the verdict ahead of Markhesa. Jim Boyle's filly ran too badly to be true at Kempton when last seen in April and should appreciate the return to turf and the step up in trip so she cannot be discounted. Granite Girl has shown improvement in her last two starts, finding just Aktia too good at Yarmouth last week and she has every chance racing off the same mark today. Steve Woodman's Ivory Lace has run creditably in two recent starts at Goodwood but she probably needs some help from the handicapper and more solid claims are probably held by Simon Dow's Ubiquitous, who gas been given a chance by the handicapper having been dropped to a mark of just 46 and she has been running well in defeat of late so has to be considered. Harry Dunlop's Santa Margherita is lightly raced but needs to improve and preference is for Henry Candy's Beauchamp Xiara, who appreciated the return to this trip when chasing home Dolcetto at Windsor last time and she can go one better today.
Beauchamp Xiara 20-1 (9-11) Held up towards rear, headway over 2f out, switched left 2f out, stayed on to chase winner final 100 yards, no impression near finish, 2nd of 13, 1l behind Dolcetto (10-0) at Windsor 1m 2f fll hcp (5) gf in Jun.
