Phil McEnteeThoughtsofstardom has been running well in defeat in recent starts in handicaps and is now only 2lbs higher in the weights than when successful over course and distance at the beginning of last month so he has to be respected but preference is for AVRILO, who gets the verdict over Leleyf. Mick Channon's filly showed improved form when chasing home Wanchai Whisper at Windsor last time and she has solid claims racing off a 2lb lower mark today but she is not the most consistent of performers. Simon Dow's Edith's Boy has not been in particularly good form this term but has been given a chance by the handicapper and is now 2lbs lower than when winning at Lingfield in November. Chris Wall's Luminous Gold has run promisingly in both starts this term and has to be considered but she may still be a shade high in the weights, while Simple Rhythm is probably better over six furlongs than the minimum trip that she faces today. The vote then goes the way of the Malcolm Saunders-trained Avrilo, who has held her form well after back-to-back wins at Lingfield and Brighton, finding one too good in each of her last two starts and she can race off the same mark as then today.
