In depth

Verdict

A particularly uninspiring contest and low stakes are advised with Uno Mente the suggestion ahead of Absolute Utopia and Somayda as the main dangers. The selection has proved a fairly consistent performer on the all-weather during the winter and showed that he remains in good form on his return to the turf when a close third in a seller at Ripon last month. The four-year-old also scored for today's pilot at Leicester last season and remains unexposed over this trip so could be open to a little further improvement. Absolute Utopia is another useful yardstickat this level and followed placed efforts with a clear cut selling victory at Bath last time so looks sure to give another good account although a 7lb penalty will make this a much tougher assignment. Somayda is in to the veteran stage of his racing career but ran encouragingly over a trip short of his best last time and will be suited by the extra two furlongs he encounters here.
