Night Protector has been found a suitable opportunity to open his account and gets a confident vote ahead of Man Eater with Red Leicester best of the remainder. Pip Payne's Night Protector showed useful form to finish runner-up in both juvenile starts including behind Coconut Penang in an above average maiden at Lingfield. The selection showed plenty of pace when attempting to make all in similar company over six furlongs at Newmarket's Craven meeting but wandered under pressure and had to settle for second behind Bonus King. The latter franked the form at Salisbury last weekend and the drop back to the minimum trip should suit ideally. Man Eater looked a useful early season juvenile last season but has failed to fulfill her potential and looks likely to struggle judged on her recent comeback on the all-weather and is now tried in first-time blinkers. Red Leicester showed some promise on her debut at Nottingham but needs to improve significantly to trouble the selection on these terms.
