There are no world beaters here and the likes of Roman Empire, Star Lad and Stoic Leader appear to be the trio to concentrate on, with the last named given the vote. Roger Fisher's charge, drawn in stall four, is on a reasonable mark at present after failing to add to his one success, gained at Musselburgh last June. Since then though he has started to show signs of a revival, and was noted running on at the end of a five-furlong class E affair, also at the Scottish track, nine days ago. The step up in trip and drop in grade should help the son of Danehill Dancer in his bid to visit the winner's enclosure and get back the losses as he was sent off market leader. Star Lad has had plenty of chances since being gelded but ran well at Bath after a bit of a break and can make the frame, while Roman Empire bids to make up for failing to justify favouritism at Lingfield after scoring on the Polytrack the time before. The drop back to six furlongs is a bit of a worry though and we return to Stoic Leader as the selection.
