Some of these have almost certainly seen better days but Easkey Lad won at Uttoxeter in the autumn, though fell heavily on his return to action here last month and has cheekpieces added to a tongue-tie today. FIRST CLASS RETURN has been contesting sellers over hurdles recently but did win one at Wetherby last month before falling at Exeter. A winner twice over Southwell’s stiff fences in 2021, he should handle these obstacles so gets the nod in a race that is not nearly as competitive as the numbers would suggest.
