In depth

Verdict

Flanagans Field is feasibly treated if turning out as he was due to run at Newton Abbot yesterday. He's one of the more consistent sorts on show and just one of two recent winners along with Harbour Force, pulled up after a bad mistake on his subsequent start. Both should be in the shake-up but CODESHARE makes appeal for the Bowens when looking much more like it the last day, sticking on well to come home a close fourth in a Ludlow handicap. A winner on the level, he should have more to offer after just four starts over timber. Market Road would have beaten these in his pomp but is on the downgrade although it wouldn't surprise to see him get involved in an ordinary affair such as this.
