A particularly poor event of it's type can go to Amarone who is handed the TEAMtalk vote. Mick Ryan's charge disappointed in better grade at Wetherby last time but had previously landed a similar event over course and distance late last month. The way he stayed on strongly over two miles on that occasion strongly suggests this trip will suit and the four-year-old should take some beating off just a 1lb higher mark. Cooling Off is a previous winner here but has been out of form this term while Distant Storm looks on the downgrade. Polish Pilot reverts to hurdling having been below par over fences of late and looks opposable so York Rite, who shaped nicely on his return, looks best of the remainder.
