Resplendent Star is selected in favour of Common Girl and Nippy Des Mottes. Already proven around this track, Resplendent Star has had a break but does go well fresh and could have the basic speed to beat these. Common Girl will be brought gradually into the race as time goes by. She comfortably beat Middleham Park over 2m 7f but will be taking a drop in trip today. Nippy Des Mottes took on better opposition at Chepstow last month. He is sure to appreciate the step up in trip but the ground has to be a severe worry. Zaffre is proven on the surface. There is a bit to do on ratings but it is interesting that connections have come here rather than go chasing as was reported. Rajayoga was a modest horse on the flat. He may take to this track though and the market is watched for any signs of encouragement. A difficult race to fathom and one in which Resplendent Star looks to have obvious chances.
