Ivan Grozny, a winner at Aintree a year ago, completed a summer hat-trick when landing a Grade 2 at Tipperary and is much better than he showed on his latest start at Naas in January. He could prove best of the Willie Mullins trio though the youngster Chambord Du Lys won very easily at Clonmel and starts out in handicaps from a lenient mark. Grand Partner beat Joshua Lane off levels at Leopardstown in February and both have continued to go well while Modem finished third in this last year and hails from a yard in top form. ICE COLD SOUL won a hugely competitive handicap at this level at Leopardstown in January, with Golden Spear a length back in third, and may just have needed the run at Aintree's Grand National meeting so gets an early opportunity to show he's progressing well enough to get back to winning ways.
