Winning point-to-pointer FANGIO DE VASSY made a promising debut over hurdles at Leopardstown and started odds-on at Gowran in January but pulled up on very testing ground when only three finished. He's better than that and can gain compensation. Mahons Glory ran his best race to date when chasing home Papal Lodge at Punchestown but that was over the minimum trip. New Society was only just behind in that latter race but made jumping errors when tackling 2m3f at Clonmel and was soon beaten. Daicheadacuig was a 125/1 chance over this trip at Cork last month but belied his odds with an excellent run, looking like a winner on the run-in but just outpaced close home. Majavango is another with claims after a very encouraging hurdling debut over this trip at Navan.
