In depth

Verdict

Exodous carries topweight here in a bid to step on a recent third to Novi Sad at Ascot. Jim Old's charge put in eyecatching late headway on that occasion and appears to be getting his act together for the first time since coming over from France. Generous Ways also showed big improvement when chasing home Forest Tune at Ludlow, clearly appreciating the fast ground and is another for the short-list. Martin Pipe and Tony McCoy team up with Kilmeny who needed her first outing since Boxing day when third at Southwell. Four times a winner on the Flat, she is slowly improving but looks no world beater. Xellance showed a glimmer of improvement when third at Ludlow last time, but is still a maiden over timber and has yet to show the toughness he displayed for Mark Johnston on the Flat. In a trappy affair, Exodous is taken to defy topweight.
