Race two on the Exeter card is a lot more competitive than the first, despite the fact that only six line up. David Elsworth saddles Serenus who is something of a Kempton specialist, and indeed gained his last victory there in 2000. He has not managed to add to that tally since and has tumbled down the weights as a result. He is not the force of old and could be worth opposing with Canadiane who bids to make up for his first fence departure in the Topham at Aintree. Martin Pipe's mare had earlier gained his first success over hurdles in three years at Taunton and may be best kept to the smaller obstacles for the time being. With Tony McCoy back on board for the first time since riding her into second place at Ascot on November 2000 in what was a better race than this, she can defy topweight. Tamango was beaten when falling at the last over fences at Taunton last time and will also appreciate being back over hurdles, but has a bit to do on form. However, he makes more appeal than My Bold Boyo. Expect a good run from Spring Grove as well-he is yet another who has failed to live up to expectations over fences and should be there or thereabouts in a hard one to call.
