In the bumper, Shadow River gets the nod over Banchory Two and West Hill Gail. Shadow River, a half-brother to Davenport Milenium, showed more than enough when second on his latest start to suggest that he will be a major player in this race. Captain Aubray is well-bred for this game but Nicky Henderson's Insharann has shown little in two starts. Watch the betting for Paul Nicholls nicely-bred Banchory Two, while the best of Victor Dartnall's pair looks to be West Hill Gail, who is also well bred and the Dartnall stable has a good record in these races this season. Overall, though, unless the betting suggests something markedly different, Shadow River gets our vote.
