In the opener, Secret Pact gets the nod over Almaty Express and, possibly, Lorna Dune. The selection cost 100,000 guineas an showed plenty of promise despite running green on his debut. With that experience under his belt, he looks set to go well today. Almaty Express ran well on his debut although the race is hard to evaluate. The others to have run have shown promise but look vulnerable to the Mark Johnston-trained selection. Tantien should improve for his debut run on soft going at Haydock, while Lorna Dune is one of a few from good stables that should be watched out for in the betting. Overall, though, the vote goes to Secret Pact.
