El Palmar looks the one to beat here, with Westborough and Tatweer possibly proving best of the rest. The David Barron-trained selection has shown ability in each of his three starts to date, and his third to Mr Wolf at Newcastle last time reads very well in the context of this race. Despite the fact that he did not seem entirely suited by soft going last time, his natural ability might still see him home. A return to the level of form that saw Westborough finish second to Benbaun at Redcar last September would give him chances, while Tatweer, who ran quite well at Folkestone last time, might improve again for the drop to five furlongs. Take Good Time showed some promise at Goodwood on his debut so might improve but the others have looked modest to date. Overall, then, El Palmar holds a leading chance and gets the vote.
