Verdict

SHANTOU FLYER was a 50/1 chance in the Hunters’ Chase at the Cheltenham Festival last month but belied those odds to finish third, beaten only three lengths. Dandy Man and Wotzizname were pulled up and the 13-year-old will take all the beating here if reproducing that effort. The danger may be the mare Singapore Saga, who has won three times between the flags this season and was also successful over course and distance last month after an earlier second at Taunton.
