In depth

Verdict

Bannister, Gentle Connections, Haloa Mail and Platinumcard all lack a recent run but Maclaine and Kincardine have had wind surgery since last seen and the latter also wears cheekpieces for the first time today. MIDNIGHT GINGER doesn’t really enjoy soft going so connections will be hoping that forecast showers are only light. The top weight is only a pound higher than when scoring at Newbury on New Year’s Eve. Wincanton maiden winner Gyenyame is still relatively unexposed over timber and a case can also be made for General Medrano and Le Patron but Jolly Nellerie was well beaten in a match on his UK debut.
