GILSLAND looks an interesting newcomer to handicaps and Donald McCain's gelding is narrowly preferred to Magnifico and Love Of Tara. The last-named would be interesting if turned out quickly following her Plumpton second on Monday. She was outpaced there but ran on well to the line and it would be no surprise to see her run well back over this trip. However we prefer the claims of Gilsland who makes his handicap bow this afternoon. His third on his final start last season was an improvement on his previous form and the six-year-old looks sure to progress well this season now granted a test of stamina. Top-weight Master Eddy cannot be ignored now dropped back to a more realistic level, Magnifico has had his confidence boosted by a selling victory last time out at Uttoxeter, whilst course winner Nemetan is one of several in the race who look a bit high in the handicap. At a price Low Delta could run a big race now returned to a softer surface, however in a tricky finale it is Gilsland who is narrowly preferred.
