The European challenge is light unless you include the horses the Australians have claimed from our shores - Changingoftheguard, Warringah and Mourilyan are all now trained Down Under and all have chances. However, the home team already looked strong without our assistance and we'll take ALCOPOP to get the better of last year's winner Viewed and deny Bart Cummings yet another win in the 'race that stops the nation'. Alcopop's sire, Jeune, won the Cup 15 years ago and his son has solid claims off 8-4, as he has won five of his last six races and was very impressive in a Group 2 at Caulfield last time. He looks sure to relish this test and while Dom Tourneur has never raced at the track we'll trust him to do the business on what looks a classy mount. Viewed is in cracking form but does have to race with nearly a stone more on his back this time, while Master O'Reilly will be there or thereabouts. However, we'll take Alcopop to show some fizz at Flemington.
