      Verdict

A competitive and interesting race that closes the card sees Lucayan Dancer, Scottish River, Little Eye and Freak Occurrence shortlisted, with the vote going to Lucayan Dancer. Lucayan Dancer bounced back to winning form at Chester last time and, if in that type of mood again, has to be seriously respected. Scottish River has taken a sharp rise in the ratings following his Newbury win, and he has since followed up in an amateurs' race. Clearly in good heart, it will be interesting to see if he can defy the handicapper. Little Eye caught the eye staying on late at Windsor last time and, overall, his form entitles him to respect. The run following his Bath run could have come too soon for Freak Occurrence last time and he could fare better tonight, while Voicemail got back to winning ways at Bath last time but this looks tougher, although he is wearing first-time blinkers now. Iffy and Factual Lad are closely weighted based on their Brighton runs of June 2nd, while Anuvasteel looks weighted up to his best and Best Be Going has yet to build on his first-time visored win at Windsor. This spins us back to the selection, which is Lucayan Dancer.
