Rondelet, Acomb and Scottish River look to be the principles in this classified stakes and the vote is given to the last mentioned. The selection is a course and distance winner who won in convincing fashion when defeating Jacaranda. He is on the same mark here and although he would ideally prefer a bit more cut in the ground, he could still be good enough to take this. Acomb has had a fine season and has been given a break since disappointing when chasing a hat-trick of straight wins at Hamilton last month. He will have conditions to suit here and remains on a fair mark but he is unproven over this trip and for that reason is opposed. Rondelet ran well behind Golden Island at Chester last time and should be capable of making the frame here. However, Golden Island has since disappointed when well beaten at Ascot so the form of that run has been let down, so we are happy to overlook Rondelet on this occasion. Of the remainder, Katiypour has form on this track and he would not be far away if he could get anywhere near his best, but Scottish River won in emphatic style here last time and is taken to go in again.
