In depth

Verdict

Eradicate is preferred to Escape Route and Mr Aviator amongst others. Joe Fanning excels at timing the fractions and was seen at his best when nursing Eradicate home over a mile and a half at Musselburgh. He's not well treated under his penalty but he returns to his optimum trip and looks capable of fulfilling the promise that he showed at the start of last season. None of his opponents regularly make the running so there's every chance that he'll be allowed to dictate his own pace once again and that could make the difference between winning and losing. Mr Aviator is on a career high mark but should be involved as should Escape Route who arguably has the more scope. Connections seem to have ironed out the latter's quirks and he has improved for the step up to this trip of late; he is feared. Of the remainder, Emirates Skyline went off the boil last year and has a bit to prove as a consequence, Rationale could get tapped for toe, Ladies Best wouldn't need to find a great deal to feature but is usually held up and will need the gaps to appear as will Smart Instinct who is on a winning mark and has the ability but needs the cards to drop right. There are no such concerns for our selection and ERADICATE is taken to make every post a winning one.
