Polybius and Watchable don’t arrive in the best of form while the remaining trio need to put recent below par efforts behind them. Handytalk ran poorly at Salisbury last time but went close here last season off a higher mark while Boom The Groom struggled in last month’s Epsom Dash but was beaten less than a length here on his penultimate start. BARON BOLT faded badly at Newmarket recently but had rattled-up a string of seconds in decent sprints before that and it’s Paul Cole’s charge that gets another chance today.
Polybius 33-1 (8-5) last of 5, 13 1/4l behind Baccarat (9-2) at Meydan 6f hcp gd in Feb.
Baron Bolt 4-1 (9-8) Keen in touch, ridden and weakened over 1f out, last of 11, 11l behind Gunmetal (9-7) at Newmarket 6f hcp (2) gf in Jun.
Watchable 9-2 (9-12) Made most until entering final furlong, no extra final 75 yards, 6th of 11, 5 1/4l behind Brian The Snail (10-0) at Doncaster 6f hcp (3) gf in Jun.
Boom The Groom (IRE) 13-2 (8-10) Unruly before start, slowly into stride, always behind, 19th of 20, 11 1/4l behind Tanasoq (8-0) at Epsom 5f hcp (2) gd in Jun.
Handytalk (IRE) 11-2 (9-13) Raced keenly, chased leaders until hampered and lost place over 3f out, towards rear and never on terms after, 8th of 9, 9l behind Open Wide (10-1) at Salisbury 5f hcp (4) gf in Jun.
