Trafalgar Square was good value for his success at Goodwood last time and John Akehurst's colt will be fancied by many to follow up under his penalty but he may not represent much in the way of value and preference is for Granston, who gets the vote ahead of Wavertree Warrior. The last mentioned also won at Goodwood last time but a 5lb penalty for that success leaves him with more to do so he may be best watched. David Barron has his string in fine fettle at present so Flipando has to be respected, while Hinterland is lightly raced and open to improvement. Michael Bell's Skidrow looks to be going the right way but could probably do with some help from the handicapper, while Akona Matata may prefer a faster surface. The vote then goes to Granston, who has looked a shade unlucky this term and has conditions in his favour today so may be worth another chance, especially at the forecast odds.
