A competitive little handicap that can be taken by Lord Of The East, with Waterside and Cape St Vincent likely to emerge as his serious rivals. The selection is a course and distance winner, having scored here last year, though he goes equally well over six or seven furlongs. A consistent sort, he races from the same mark of 71 as when a half-length third at Doncaster last time out and the handicapper is due to raise him 3lb shortly,so today is as good a day as we might have for a while to catch him. Waterside could justifiably be sent off favourite here after some tremendous form of late, winning at Folkestone and Sandown and just being touched off by a head at Kempton last time. Another who is due to go up in the weights soon, he clearly makes some appeal, but all those recent runs have been over seven furlongs and it may be that the five-year-old is better suited by the that than this drop back to six these days. Recent Warwick second Cape St Vincent makes most appeal of the others. That run behind Dizzy In The Head was his best turf run for some time. He seems suited by the visor and there is no reason why he cannot reproduce that form now and take a hand again. Despite that, he will be hard pushed to beat our selection Lord of The East.
