Verdict

River Rain has been very disappointing and had no answer when Champagne went past at the Curragh. She makes her all-weather debut as does her stable companion DANCING TANGO, a recent import from the UK where she'd been performing in strong company. The latter gets the nod though Champagne's yard is represented by Cyclamen, a 325,000gns yearling who could do with a victory for the paddocks, and Engagement Ring, who was beaten nine lengths into second at Gowran. The four-year-old Cristal Clere has the better form but should really have won by now while Distinct hasn't been seen since May last year.
