Verdict

Chicago Fireball was third in a Leopardstown Group 3 in the summer though there were only four runners. He was just behind Soldier's Empire in the Goffs Million at the Curragh and the latter should have the edge again. Much better must have been expected of Heliogabalus at Roscommon in May as he started favourite but his stable is in better form now. Taraj chased home the Ballydoyle-trained Gaspar De Lemos at the Curragh and the latter's yard is represented by Emphasis, a 210,000gns foal out of a mare who has produced winners with her first two offspring. There are plenty of other notable newcomers including PAGAN SUN, a son of the Arc winner Walgeist out of a mare who won on the Flat and over hurdles. He cost an astonishing €360,000 at the Arqana May Breeze-up so must have been hugely impressive and gets the nod in an interesting race.
