The veteran Well Insured has a poor strike-rate and his three course victories have all been over much shorter. Star Of Aragon has had more success over hurdles than on the level though he has won over 1m6f at the Curragh. Fairy Court is still 10lb higher than his only victory on the Flat despite moderate recent form. Glasson Lad has had 35 career starts without winning but Deadline Day finished runner-up over this trip at Wolverhampton when trained by Roger Varian. Laurel Creek, who completed a hat-trick at Wolverhampton in 2009, including over this trip, will have badly needed his run there a fortnight ago though he attracted very strong support. ASIAN WING has run 28 times but never beyond 1m4f so his ability to last out this trip is unknown.
