      Verdict

      Merkel was strongly fancied to land a handicap here last week but ran poorly after pulling too hard. She'll need to raise her game to get competitive here as she earlier finished behind TAWARIYKA over this C&D and the latter's experience of the surface can see her home here against main rival Susiescot. Willie McCreery's filly has performed with credit in better company on turf and would be an obvious threat if taking to Polytrack.
