Verdict
Flying Phoenix has been placed in both starts but Dai Burchell's filly probably needs to improve again to get the better of MENTALIST. Second at Wincanton and Bangor following a pipe-opener, Venetia Williams' gelding is probably taking on lesser opposition here and should finally get his head in front. Captain Sharpe had no chance in a Grade 1 here last time but did finish ahead of the selection at Sandown in November, though did have the advantage of previous experience that day. Gap Of Dunloe won on the Polytrack at Dundalk last year and may prove best of the newcomers.
