Verdict

IRRADIATE was taking a big step-up in trip when coming here for his handicap debut in November and got up right on the line for a surprise victory. There's more to come and an 8lb rise shouldn't pose too much of a problem though Lever Du Soleil, who was beaten just over 3 lengths, is entitled to get closer. The selection's stable companion King's Vow has won around here and looks the type to be suited by this longer trip but Lorelina, seven times a winner on Turf for Andrew Balding, was well beaten on his only start over this trip though that was in a tough Ascot handicap. Bal De Rio stays the trip really well and was only beaten a length over hurdles last month but Miss Snossyboots, a close second over 1m4f here last week, has never raced beyond that trip.
