Verdict

Blue Cannon has three entries in handicaps at Cheltenham and will probably find this on the short side but everything looks set for a big run from Buccaneer Bob. He was finishing very strongly when runner-up to Waterloo Sunset over 1m3f and again ran well behind tonight's rival DENIS OF KERRY with Dashing Duchess not too far back in fourth. The winner was returning to form after a barren spell and, now he's back on track, can follow up from 5lb higher. Blue Ridge Lane won a handicap in good style here early last month but had a massive 9lb rise to overcome a week later and had no chance after missing the break. Mac Tigue ran his best race for a long time behind Days Ahead in January and a repeat would see him in the firing-line.
