In depth

Verdict

PAT GARRETT could quite easily have won two of the last four but for coming a cropper when clear. He came here last month with a favourite's chance but fluffed his lines and his supporters deserve some compensation. Old Supporter has been raised 6lb for scoring at Clonmel which shouldn't prevent another big effort. He's won on fast going so has to be respected with Brian Hayes able to claim 5lb. Personal Shopper won a handicap hurdle at Sligo in May and came here five days later for a handicap chase where he ran really well to finish second. He's only 1lb higher and, with his rider claiming 7lb, has to be on the short-list. High Talk ran a shocker at Ballinrobe last time though generally goes well on this track and should be respected but Niall Moran must be despairing of getting a race out of Whisky Galore, who has had 46 career starts without getting on the scorecard.
